Temple ACM believes that we can make a difference by giving back to our community. This year we volunteered our time in two community service projects which helped the less fortunate.
For the past few years we have been participating in both Philadelphia Cares and Relay for Life. Philadelphia Cares is a great program which helps reach out to local schools, doing work they don't have the time or people to do, like painting and caring for playgrounds. Relay for Life is a fund raiser for cancer research held in a gym - your team raises money and walks around the track all night, which is a lot of fun. We plan to do both of these activities again this year.
If you are interested in participating with us in future community services activities, or would like to help in the planning for future community service events please contact the Director of Fundraising and Community Service, Brian Stempin.
Temple ACM asks you to join our ongoing community service effort to donate CPU time to Stanford University's Folding@Home project. While you are all more than welcome to donate time anonymously, you are encouraged to set your client to report as a member of the Temple ACM's team.
Our team number is 170053.
Our other team information, such as time donated, can be found here.
We've created a page that allows people to see the current status of each TU-ACM machine's current Work Unit. The link is here: http://acm.temple.edu/fahprogress
